ABOUT US

The Tamar Valley is host to a large number of artists and has been an inspiration to many since Turner’s visits in the early nineteenth century.   Today, artists who’ve been drawn to live in this area are working in a variety of ways and media that reflect developments in contemporary art.

The Drawn to the Valley group now has over 100 members, ranging from painters and printmakers to ceramicists, sculptors and textile artists. This year’s project would not have taken place without the sustained commitment, enthusiasm and support of our membership. Our artistic community is continuing to grow, and we would like you to share in it.

The 2007 Open Studios event runs from 1st to 9th September.  Opening times vary so please study the details of each venue carefully and if in doubt telephone first.  Where premises have disabled facilities, this has been indicated.  Do visit our studios as well as our other venues where you can meet us to enjoy our work and, of course, experience the beauty of the area too. Nearer the time Directories will be distributed across the area to guide you.
