I trained at Falmouth College of art. My studio overlooks the sea. The daily changes of light on the water feed my inner vision. All my work evokes an illusion of depth, through thin veils of oil paint. I want to enable the viewer to escape into a timeless world, through the window of the painting. I feel like the ancient icon-painters, who prayed over their work, to infuse it with spirituality. My work is not religious, but is inspired more by the internal than the external. Each painting dictates its own mood, and communicates this to me as I work.
