National success for Drawn to the Valley Artist Ryan Rodgers

Ryan Rodgers who lives in the Tamar Valley has been chosen to exhibit one of his paintings next month at the Creekside Open Exhibition in London. The exhibition has been selected by Dexter Dalwood who was shortlisted for the Turner prize in 2010 and who was represented in a one man show at the Tate St Ives last year.

Over 900 artists from the UK submitted works for consideration and Ryan is delighted to be one of the 63 who were chosen for the May exhibition. Since its inception in 2005, the Creekside OPEN has become one of London's foremost open competitions for visual artists. Support for the Creekside Open has increased year by year and this year the competition expanded to include visual artists living or working in the UK.

Ryan is a member of the artists’ group Drawn to the Valley, whose 120 members will be hosting their annual Open Studios event later this year.

Ryan's work is called "Wall", and is oil on canvas, to view the image see Ryan in our list of members.
