Sucess for Local artists, Mary Gillett and Fi Smart who were selected from 1,350 entries to exhibit in Mall Galleries' brand new printmaking show this summer. The exhibition featured work by Damien Hirst, Sir Peter Blake, Michael Craig-Martin, Patrick Hughes, Gary Hume, Tony Bevan, Stephen Chambers RA, John Hoyland and Barbara Rae RA
BITE is intended to give prominence to the under-represented medium of original printmaking, exhibiting invited established names alongside emerging artists selected through open submission.
The selectors for thls.inauqural show are:
Chris Orr, Royal Academician and ex-Professor of Printmaking at the Royal College of Art (1998-2008);
Barton Hargreaves. Royal Academy Schools Epson Print Research Fellow;
Richard Noyce, Curator of the 4th International Print Exhibition in Istanbul 2011; Brad Faine, Managing Director of Coriander Studio,
and Paul Coldwell, professor at CCW, University of the Arts, London.
